I am delighted to announce that TYAC has launched its stunning new website as the final element of our charity rebrand.  The new site has been designed to maximize ease of navigation, with content no more than two clicks away from the homepage.

The development costs of the new site have been completely funded by the Transform Foundation and we are most grateful to them for their support and to platform provider, Raising IT, for guiding us throughout the process.

The site features online payment options, which we have not previously been able to offer, including payment by credit card and direct debit (one off or recurring).

We have streamlined our Members' Area by removing the discussion forums, which were rarely used.  As an alternative, any members wanting to connect directly with their peers in TYA cancer care can do so by joining TYAC's closed LinkedIn discussion group.

In order to ensure the highest standard of compliance with current Data Protection legislation, as well as prepare for the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation, TYAC's Board of Trustees decided to take the Members' Directory and directories of PTC and Designated Hospital clinicians offline.  As always, we will continue to promote contact and networking between TYA professionals via our fortnightly e-bulletin, TYAC Insight, and via our professional interest groups and annual conference.

In order to meet our new charitable objects, the Trustees, with the encouragement of TYAC's funders (CLIC Sargent and Teenage Cancer Trust), have taken the decision to make TYAC's online resource library publicly available.  Access to TYAC's best practice guidance will remain restricted to TYAC members and our Service Development Group has a wealth of new guidance in the pipeline.

TYAC members wishing to access the Members' Area of the website will first need to register on the site as follows:

  • On the homepage, click 'Login' (top right of the homepage)
  • Click the orange button 'Please register' on the next page
  • Enter the contact information requested
  • We will then verify your details against our database of current members before confirming your access to the members' area via email.
  • If you have any difficulties, please email [email protected]

I hope you will find the new site both easy to navigate and visually appealing.  I would encourage you to share appropriate content for the site with us and to consider writing for our new blog.

With best wishes for the festive season.
