As TYAC moves into 2018, newly merged with Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the charity's work.

Here is the organisations Executive Director, Ashley Gamble:

We’re pleased to be working more closely with TYAC this year, bringing together the expertise of both organisations, and the passion and commitment of their respective memberships, to ensure that all children, teenagers and young adults with cancer receive the best possible treatment and care.
CCLG was founded over 40 years ago and has since made significant contributions towards improving the survival rates of children with cancer. We’re based at the University of Leicester Clinical Sciences Building at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Like TYAC, CCLG is a professional association, working together with our members to share best practice and advance development of every discipline working with children with cancer. As well as this, CCLG is an increasingly important funder of childhood cancer research. Since we published our first research strategy in 2015, we've dramatically increased our support for research, both from our own funds and through working in partnership with other charities. We were delighted to be accepted into membership of the Association of Medical Research Charities last year, a testament to the quality of research we fund, with the ultimate aim of curing as many children as possible while reducing the side effects of treatment. For more information on our research projects and grants, click here.
We also act as an advisory body on children's cancer, to NHS England, NICE and the government among others, and work with other charities to raise awareness on issues relating to childhood cancer. We pride ourselves on our award-winning publications and resources that are available to children and parents during and after treatment, and aim to expand these services to help more teenagers and young adults through this difficult time.

Working together with TYAC will provide a brilliant opportunity to increase the reach of our resources, and develop a detailed research strategy in partnership with TYAC, to ensure that all young people and their families have the maximum opportunity to contribute to and participate in research that directly affects them."
